Pioneer Contract Services Celebrates 50 Years in Business



Pioneer Contract Services is pleased to announce the commemoration of our 50th

anniversary. As a family owned and operated business, we are proud of our company’s legacy, and our many accomplishments. Since our beginning Pioneer has provided services to most of Houston’s Top 500 companies and we have made many friends along the way. The attainment of this milestone would not have been possible without

the loyalty of our many customers, and for that we are truly grateful. We consider our employees our most valuable resource, and we credit our success on their ability to provide outstanding support to our customers.


Our story began in 1972 when Pioneer was founded with the objective of pursuing government contracting opportunities. Within three years we were awarded three contracts with NASA at Houston, Texas, Langley, Virginia, and Huntsville, Alabama. We maintained a presence in government contracting until 2001, when our revenue exceeded the SBA small business size standard. In 1979 under the leadership of the owner Ed Fritcher, the company began to market commercial office relocations and warehousing opportunities in the Houston area. Ed promoted the idea that using the government’s proposal format in response to commercial solicitations would set Pioneer apart from the competition.

He was correct our commercial proposals were highly successful and as a result we were well on our way to becoming one of the largest commercial office relocation and warehousing companies in the Houston area. Pioneer accomplished the relocation of several major corporate mergers in the 1990’s involving the relocation of office furniture from other cities/states to Houston. We also accomplished many of the largest and most complex office relocation projects in the Houston area, including the single largest corporate relocation to date of approximately 12,000 employees.


Our core services have expanded over the years to include a variety of related support services. In 1996 we became a commercial office furniture dealer Hon and today our showroom is the largest dedicated Hon showroom in the Houston area. In 2006, we added a records and information management services division to provide professional management of business records throughout their life cycle, from creation to eventual disposal. In 2020 we expanded our showroom to include a full line of flooring products that we professionally install and service.


We want to thank everyone that played a part in Pioneer’s success over the past 50 years. Pioneer is strategically positioned to continue operating for many more years as the second generation of family members move to the forefront of corporate leadership. We are excited with the prospect of a bright future with new ideas and services to offer to our customers.
