Financial Controller

Seeking an experienced controller to oversee financial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience managing financial reporting, job costing, and other accounting functions. The controller will also produce thorough financial reports for management to help improve operational efficiency and aid in continued growth.


Objectives of this role

  •  Provide comprehensive financial updates to management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data   points

  •  Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape

  •  Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines

  •  Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies

  •  Research and oversee software alternatives designed to unify distinct platforms, creating a seamlessly integrated   Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Responsibilities

 

  •  Responsible for all aspects of accounting, including revenue recognition, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts receivable. accounts payable, and internal controls.

  •  Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP

  •  Monitor and analyze job cost reports to ensure projects are on budget.

  •  Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements.

  •  Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory   requirements.

  •  Manage cash flow.

  •  Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

  •  Develop, implement and upgrade financial systems and controls as necessary.

  •  Ensure appropriate resources and staffing are available for the controllership department.

  •  Interface with IT, Operations, HR, External Auditors and other departments within the organization.

  •  Other duties may be assigned.

Required skills and qualifications

  •  Ten or more years of professional accounting experience.

  •  Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  •  Working knowledge of federal and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.

  •  Familiarity with job costing principles and experience implementing job costing systems.

  •  Preferred skills and qualifications.

  •  Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field.

  •  Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.

  •  Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant).

  •  Proficiency in accounting software, specifically MS Dynamics, and advanced Excel skills.

  •  Accuracy and attention to details.
